Iterate Brief (tentative)

The project is about exploring the ethics and responsibilities of designers. Through matching captions with generated images, comparisons should be made. The first half of the project should focus on exploiting the manipulation of information via graphic communications in news. The second part of the project should focus on exploring ethical ways when presenting issues.  The direction of the project is to aim for three forms of criticality on graphic communication design suggested by Ramia Mazé: personal, disciplinary, and public levels. In 4 weeks, it is best to at least reach the disciplinary level. It is excepted to construct a random generator that automates the iterations of news title generations.

Week 1

Pick a container(news), recreate 4 of the screen grabs and compare them
Find 3 different readings that is related to the topic

Week 2

Pick and select graphic design elements
Automated iterations: Make a random generator that mixes and matches captions

(Start building the GAN for week 3)

Week 3

(Create GAN to make a soup of fake images from news images. Remix the generated images and compare with different treatments.)

Week 4

(Experiment with the library of GAN created)
